Decisive week for Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo’s neverending story seems to have arrived to a crucial point; wednesday, in fact, Real Madrid chairman Ramon Calderon will meet Manchester United executives in Nyon, Switzerland. At the moment the two parties are divided by 15 million Euros as Real has offered 85 million Euros while Manchester want 100.

Calderon: You bet we’ll land Cristiano Ronaldo

As the Ronaldo saga continues to drag on with no end immediately visible, all parties seem to be flip-flopping somewhat on their initial intentions.

The Portuguese superstar himself has opted to show for pre-season training with United after ditching his plans to hold showdown talks with Sir Alex Ferguson last week, instead going on holiday.

Meanwhile, Calderon recently hinted that “los blancos” chances of snaring the 23-year-old were gradually fading; however, he seems to have changed his tune yet again, insisting he is tempted to put a wager on Madrid capturing Ronaldo this summer.

Bet. I would bet.“, Calderon sayd. “It is up to the player. If he wants to come, then he can join Real Madrid.

Manchester United are saying they do not want him to leave and they are not a club who normally sell their best players.

But if a player wants to leave it is difficult to keep him. It is the same for me. If I have a player who wants to go somewhere else, we let them go.“, sayd Ramon Calderon
