Real Madrid eye Coloccini
Coloccini has formed part of a formidable three man defence with Alberto Lopo and Pablo Amo since Depor switched to a 5-4-1 formation at the turn of the year and his performances have seen a number of clubs take an interest in securing his services.
Barcelona were thought to be close to agreeing a deal for the twenty-six year old at the end of April, but nothing came of it, and it now seems as if Madrid could be lining up a possible move at some point over the summer according to a report in ‘Marca’.
Madrid have recently signed Coloccini’s fellow Argentine Ezequiel Garay from Racing Santander, but he will be loaned back to Racing next season, leaving a potential gap for an experienced defender in Madrid’s squad.
Deportivo are thought to be willing to part with Coloccini for a fee in the region of €13million should a bigger club come in with an offer, a fee that certainly wouldn’t be out of Madrid’s reach.
The defender is not one of their top transfer priorities, but they are keeping track of his situation and could make an approach if they feel there is a need for defensive cover for next season.
